There are 37 plots of land for rent in Albania, with a median asking rent of €1,500 a month. Land is leased for farming, for storage and industrial yards along the highways, for seasonal beach and parking businesses on the coast, and for solar and agricultural projects on larger inland parcels.

Leasing matters for foreign buyers because agricultural land cannot normally be purchased by a foreign individual: a long lease, or a purchase through an Albanian company, is the usual route. Lease terms are negotiated freely; registering the lease at the cadastre protects the tenant if the land is sold.
