There are 217 houses and villas for rent in Albania, with a median asking rent of €2,000 a month. This is a small market compared with apartments: most rental houses are around Tirana, in the villa estates of Farkë and Lundër, and are aimed at diplomatic and corporate tenants and at families who want a garden.

On the coast, houses for rent are mostly holiday villas offered by the week in summer and occasionally for the whole winter at a low monthly rate. Long-term rental villas with a pool and year-round availability are rare and priced accordingly.

Rental contracts for houses follow the same pattern as apartments: twelve months, a deposit of one to two months, utilities paid by the tenant. Because houses are often owned by families rather than agencies, get the registered owner's name on the contract and confirm it against the cadastre.
